MANILA, Aug 10, 2016 (AFP) - Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao confirmed on Wednesday that he is coming out of retirement to fight World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Jessie Vargas in November.
The Filipino eight-division world champion made the announcement after meeting with his legendary fight promoter Bob Arum in Manila on Tuesday.
"Yes, the fight is on. I have agreed to a November 5 fight with reigning WBO Welterweight champion Jessie Vargas," Pacquiao said in a statement.
