English coach Andy Flower has said that the spot-fixing and match-fixing allegations that continues to haunt the Pakistan team currently touring, have devalued Englands victories and are much sadder from the game's point of view; where as former English Captain Michael Vaughan also demanded that this series should be called off. After the initial allegations over spot-fixing were broken by a News of the World report during the Lord's Test match, the latest allegations were brought to the notice of the ICC by another British newspaper, further plunging Pakistan cricket in controversy. The latest allegations center around suspicious scoring patterns in the third ODI, which Pakistan won by 23 runs. It is really sad for the game, Flower said. From a selfish perspective it's really annoying because it devalues our Test series and it is also devaluing this one-day series. But looking at it from the game's point of view, which is what we should all do, it is very sad for cricket and the only thing I do hope is that they are able to get to the bottom of some of this stuff, he added. Amid calls from former players including Michael Vaughan for the tour to be called off, the England and Wales Cricket Board held an emergency meeting.
