PARIS (AFP) - Spanish 21st seed Garbine Muguruza reached the French Open quarter-finals for the second successive year with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Italy s Flavia Pennetta, the 28th seed, on Monday.
Muguruza will face either defending champion and second seed Maria Sharapova or Czech 13th seed Lucie Safarova for a place in the semi-finals.
