But Mexico, whose superiority in the FIFA rankings transpired for much of the game, clinched the equalizer with a short-range effort from Rafael Marquez in the 79th minute.Earlier South Africa president Jacob Zuma has officially declared the World Cup open. The scores were 0-0 during the first half however Mexico were denied a goal for offside in an entertaining opening half to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
