Football: England's Wilson set for neck surgery
The 29-year-old Bath tighthead will miss England's remaining four fixtures.
LONDON (AFP) - England prop David Wilson requires surgery on a neck injury which will rule him out of the rest of the Six Nations championship, coach Stuart Lancaster announced on Thursday.
The 29-year-old Bath tighthead will miss England s remaining four fixtures but will return in time for England s World Cup training camp.
"David has seen the specialist and will be out for the Six Nations," Lancaster said.
"He s booked in for an operation tomorrow (Friday) that will relieve his nerve impingement. He ll be out for 10-12 weeks."
Earlier, Lancaster named an unchanged team for Saturday s clash against Italy at Twickenham.
Lancaster has kept faith with the same starting XV and bench that beat Wales 21-16 in Cardiff in the Championship opener last Friday.
