Black Caps made 19 runs today on loss of a wicket on day one of the second test in Hamilton. After winning the toss, Australia decided to bat first. New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori and pace bowler Tim Southee took four wickets apiece as Australia were bowled out for 231. Vettori, playing his 100th Test match for New Zealand, sparkled with the ball and also claimed the crucial run out of opposite number Ricky Ponting in front of his home crowd. Opener Simon Katich top scored for the tourists with 88. But the Black Caps, who trail the two-match series 1-0, did suffer a late setback when Tim McIntosh was bowled by Doug Bollinger to leave them on 19-1 at stumps. That did not materialise, but Vettori soon accounted for Ryan Harris and Doug Bollinger as the tourists were dismissed for just 232.Vettori finished with figures of 4-36 from his 19.3 overs, while Southee 4-61 in 19.
