Naseem Hameed, the fastest woman of South Asia, has reached back home, after winning gold medal in SAF Games. At Karachi airport, a large number of people gave her a historic welcome. Then, Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad welcomed her at the Governor House and announced to give Rs 5 lac to her. A large number of people rushed to Naseems house to give her a momentous welcome. President Asif Ali Zardari also felicitated Naseem Hamid on becoming fastest woman of the region on winning 100-metre sprint gold medal at South Asian Games. President Zardari has announced Rs 1 million for Naseem Hameed. The President in his message said Naseem Hamid had brought laurels to the country with her relentless pursuit to achieve a prominent position among the sportswomen from SAARC region. The President said Naseems success was a testament to the governments policies for the emancipation of women in all fields of life. He hoped that Naseem would act as a role model for other women of the country to achieve their goals with determination. The 22-year-old from Karachi created history by clocking 11.81 seconds, 0.12 seconds ahead of Sri Lankas Pramila Priyadarshani, to bag her first gold medal in South Asian Games held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.Talking to media at Karachi airport, Naseem said that the prayers of her parents, friends and coaches were behind her success.
