ORLANDO, Florida (AP) - Central Florida's Blake Bortles passed for one touchdown and ran for another Thursday to help the No. 17 Knights dominate Rutgers 41-17 and remain unbeaten in college football's American Athletic Conference.

The Knights won for the sixth straight time following a three-point loss to South Carolina, retaining sole possession of first place in the AAC one game ahead of Louisville and Cincinnati.

Bortles threw a 4-yard TD pass to Breshad Perriman in the opening quarter and Central Florida scored on its first four offensive possessions to build a 28-7 lead.

Rutgers trimmed the deficit to 14 at the half when Andre Patton recovered a blocked punt in the end zone, but that was as close as Rutgers got the rest of the way.
