MADRID (AP) - Real Madrid has presented Gareth Bale to tens of thousands of fans at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium after the Wales international passed a medical test earlier on Monday.
Speaking in Spanish, Bale said it is a "great dream for me to play for Real Madrid" and thanked the fans for a "great welcome."
Bale became football s most expensive transfer at 100 million euros ($132 million) after a long-running transfer saga that spanned most of the summer.
By pairing Bale alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, new Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti will have one of the most formidable attacks in football with a combination aimed to compete with that of Spanish champion Barcelona, which features Lionel Messi and new signing Neymar.
