ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves' 14-winning streak ended Saturday night with a 1-0 loss to the last-place Miami Marlins, who scored the lone run on reliever Jordan Walden's wild pitch in the ninth inning.

 

The Braves fell one victory shy of tying the 2000 team for the franchise's longest winning streak since the 1891 Boston Beaneaters won 18 straight.

 

Adeiny Hechavarria led off the Miami ninth with a triple and scored on the wild pitch by Walden (4-2). Miami stopped its own six-game losing streak.

 

In other National League games, Jayson Werth launched a two-run homer for his 1,000th careet hit as Washington topped Philadelphia, and Colorado used a big sixth inning to hand Pittsburgh its second consecutive loss after winning 14 of 19 games.

 

In the American League, Miguel Cabrera homered against the Yankees again and had three hits while playing on a bandaged leg and Torii Hunter connected and drove in four runs to lead the Detroit Tigers over New York 9-3.

 

The Toronto Blue Jays got shots from Jose Bautista and Jose Reyes to beat Oakland 5-4, despite Josh Reddick hitting two homers for the Athletics, a day after he connected three times in a 14-6 romp. Reddick tied the MLB record for homers over two games.

 

And in interleague games, Zack Greinke scattered six hits through 6 1-3 innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays despite Evan Longoria's hidden ball trick. And Milwaukee's Scooter Gennett capped a six-run seventh inning with a three-run homer to lead the Brewers to victory over the Seattle Mariners.

 

Werth got three hits, including an RBI single in the fourth and his two-out shot off reliever Zach Miner to lead Washington to an 8-5 victory over the Phillies.

 

In his second MLB game, Tanner Roark (1-0) pitched two spotless innings. Tyler Clippard surrendered Domonic Brown's 26th home run in the eighth and Rafael Soriano pitched the ninth for his 29th save.

The Rockies put together a two-out rally in the sixth against A.J. Burnett. Nolan Arenado doubled to score Michael Cuddyer, Jonathan Herrera walked and pinch-hitter Charlie Blackmon doubled to tie the game 3-all. Fowler laced a two-run single to end Burnett's night.

 

Burnett (5-8) allowed six runs five earned on eight hits while striking out eight in 5 2-3 innings Detroit's Anibal Sanchez (10-7) tossed seven easy innings against a Yankees lineup that was without Alex Rodriguez. Manager Joe Girardi said he was giving the third baseman a day off after he struck out three times in his season debut in the Bronx.

 

Austin Jackson followed a four-hit, three-double night Friday with a homer and triple as the AL Central division-leading Tigers won for the 17th time in 21 games.

 

Skip Schumaker added four hits for the NL West division-leading Dodgers, who won despite a tricky play Tampa Bay's Longoria. The third baseman tagged out an unsuspecting Juan Uribe when he lifted his foot off the base while chatting with coach Tim Wallach in the fourth inning.

 

The rarely seen play occurred after A.J. Ellis hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly, with all three runners moving up.

 

First baseman James Loney wound up with the ball behind the mound. He flipped it to shortstop Yunel Escobar, who then quickly tossed the ball to Longoria while no one seemed to be looking. Longoria stood behind Uribe and waited to trap him.
Milwaukee put its first three batters on base in the seventh before Gennett hit his homer. The Brewers added four more in the ninth against Seattle's bullpen.

 

Tom Gorzelanny had his best performance of the season for the Brewers, giving up just three hits in seven innings.

 

Cincinnati's Will Venable homered for the second game in a row and San Diego's depleted offense took advantage of the Reds' season-high four errors to get a 3-1 victory. Venable hit his team-high 15th homer in the eighth inning off reliever Manny Parra.

 

The Chicago Cubs' pinch-hitter Dioner Navarro hit a run-scoring double in the eighth inning to cap a three-run rally that gave the club a 6-5 win over St. Louis, its first series victory in St. Louis in nearly three years.

 

The New York Mets got three RBIs from rookie Wilmer Flores and 6 1-3 effective innings on the mound from Zack Wheeler to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1.

 

San Francisco's Hunter Pence hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the sixth inning as the Giants' stagnant lineup beat the Baltimore Orioles and starter Wei-Yin Chen 3-2.

 

The Chicago White Sox got the go-ahead single in the sixth inning from Conor Gillaspie to rally past Minnesota, 5-4.
The Los Angeles Angels sent the Cleveland Indians to their sixth straight loss with a 7-2 victory. The reeling Indians committed a season-high four errors.

 

Texas' Alex Rios starred in his debut, tying the game with an RBI triple in the eighth inning and scoring the go-ahead run in a 5-4 comeback victory over the Houston Astros.

 

Boston's Jacoby Ellsbury matched a career high with four hits and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Red Sox over Kansas City 5-3.
