India's northern Kanpur cricket stadium is the only stadium in the country to have a manually operated scoreboard. Known as Green Park stadium, it is here that India will play its second test against Sri Lanka on November 24, in the on-going series.The scoreboard was set up in the year 1957 and was used first time that year when India played against West Indies.In the age of electronic scoreboards this scoreboard is still holding to its own. Not just that, the board is functioning as efficiently as the electronic ones. It displays all the data of the match being played. This scoreboard enables the viewers to see all the things including the overs that have been bowled, wickets taken, runs made. Also, there are light indicators for the batsman on the crease and the bowler in action. Everything from the boundaries hit to a six to even the umpires judging the match are mentioned on the board with a light indicators, said Harvinder Singh, Co-ordinator, scoreboard.This unique scoreboard works with 165 pulleys. A team of 35 people work together to operate it.Apart from the second test soon to be played in this Green Park stadium, this unique scoreboard will be another attraction for the new-age viewers.
