PARIS (AFP) - Under-fire Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel found an ally in fellow German Boris Becker on Sunday with the tennis legend defending his compatriot s controversial Malaysian Grand Prix win.
Vettel defied team orders by over-taking Red Bull teammate Mark Webber to snatch victory at Sepang in a move widely-condemned from within and outside the sport.
But Becker sprang to Vettel s defence, describing his actions as the mark of a true champion.
"Just watched the highlights of Malaysian Grand Prix! Vettel did what a 3times champ is supposed to do....take matters in ur own hand !," Becker wrote on Twitter.
