Pakistan to get wild-card entry for Champions Trophy: IHF president

International Hockey Federation (IHF) President Liandro Negre said that it is being considered to give Pakistan wild-card entry for its participation in the Champions Trophy. Talking at the opening ceremony of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Gold Cup Hockey Tournament in Islamabad, Liandro Negre said that Pakistan promoted this game a lot due to which IHF is thinking about giving Pakistan an honorary entry into the Champions Trophy. He hoped that Pakistan would be able to host hockey tournaments soon. Federal Sports Minister Aftab Shah Jilani said that Pakistan is a safe country for sports.
