PCB refuses to bear Shoaib surgery expenses

Summary

It seems as if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to pull the chain of Rawalpindi Express permanently as the board says it is not bound to bear expenses of Shoaib Akhtars medical treatment. Shoaib Akhtar has a knee surgery scheduled on October 8 in England for which he applied to the board more than two weeks ago. The medical committee of the board had also endorsed the treatment but the board, mesmerized by Champions Trophy victories, has not given a clear answer. On the other hand, talking to Dunya News, General Manager PCB M Nadeem Sarwar said that PCB was not responsible for taking care of Shoaibs medical treatment. He revealed that under the clause 11.1 of the central contract, the board was liable for medical treatment of only those players who were included in the national cricket team.
