Chelsea slump to Wigan, United on top

Wigan handed 10-man Chelsea a first defeat under Carlo Ancelotti as the Latics took advantage of Petr Cech's dismissal to win 3-1 at the DW Stadium on Saturday. Wigan over-powered Chelsea with a dominant display. Roberto Martinez's side took the lead through Titus Bramble. Didier Drogba looked to have restored order when he levelled just after the restart with his 100th Chelsea goal. But the key moment came when Cech tore out to trip Rodallega, earning himself a red card. The Columbian lashed in the spot-kick before Paul Scharner added a late third. Chelsea surrendered top spot to Manchester United as United defeated Stoke City 2-0. In other matches Liverpool beat Hull City 6-1, Arsenal beat Fulham 1-0 and Tottenham beat Burnley 5-0.
