Federer and Djokovic will meet in semifinals. Ninth seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark defeated US teenager Melanie Oudin 6-2, 6-2, to earn the semi-final spot in the US Open against Belgian Yanina Wickmayer. Wickmayer defeated Kateryna Bondarenko in the quarterfinals and reached in the semifinals for the first time.
