The 15-man team for the forthcoming Champions Trophy has been announced by the new selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today. Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt along with chief selector Iqbal Qasim announced the national team at a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. All-rounder Abdul Razzaq and opener Salman Butt have been dropped while fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar could not make his place in the team. Senior batsman Younis Khan will remain the captain of the team while all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi will be the vice captain. Other players are Imran Nazir, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Asif, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul and Mohammad Aamir. Changes in the team management have also been made. Yawar Saeed will remain the manager while former Test cricketer Shafqat Rana will join him as associate manager. Mohtasim Rasheed has been assigned the job of fielding coach. The Champions Trophy will be played in South Africa from September 22.
