Summary Floyd Mayweather will fight Miguel Cotto for WBA super welterweight title on May 5.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KOs) held an open training session in preparation for his upcoming fight with WBA Junior Middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto (37-2 with 30 KOs).Mayweather, 35, will fight Cotto May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in an attempt to take Cottos World Boxing Association super welterweight title.Known for his amazing speed and defense, the undefeated Mayweather plans to take a more offensive stance in the fight against Cotto.I think Im more offensive minded, I think Im not moving as much, Im standing there toe to toe, Mayweather told reporters at his boxing club in Las Vegas.The fight will be Mayweathers second fight at the 154-pound (69.8 kilogram) weight. He also fought at that limit in his 2007 win over Oscar De La Hoya.Mayweather has been convicted of domestic battery in Las Vegas and is scheduled to begin a 90 day jail sentence on June 1.
