World Hemophilia Day is being celebrated in Pakistan and across the globe. The key objective of this day is to create mass awareness of bleeding disorders, raise funds and improve treatment and care for victims of this condition.At least 10,000 people are suffering from the disease in Pakistan. A walk was organized to in Lahore to mark the occasion. Hemophilia is generally considered an uncommon disease but it is gradually making its presence felt in our part of the world now. Around the world, most people suffering from bleeding disorders are not properly diagnosed. Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder in which sufferers, generally males, do not have enough protein or clotting factors and so bleed longer than those with normal blood factors. In case of a minor injury a hemophiliac is expected to bleed more profusely, and for a longer time than others.The participants of the walk requested people to generously contribute to fund for deserving patients.
