The head of the disciplinary committee Iftikhar Baloch at the Punjab University (PU) was severely beaten up by group of students on the campus. Meanwhile, university teachers announced a boycott of classes for indefinite period in protest against the incident. Baloch was severely injured and has been shifted to local hospital.Baloch was beaten by a group of twelve students in response to his action of expelling six students from the university.PU Vice-Chancellor Mujhaid Kamran said during a press conference that a group of miscreants at university are causing the problem. The VC reportedly requested Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take immediate action against those involved and said that the university administration would not tolerate misconduct with teachers.
