A protest was staged outside Punjab Assembly building in Lahore by some women who were sanctioned small loans from Punjab Cooperative Bank and demanded to write off their debts, Dunya News reported Monday.The women said that the government of Punjab had announced to write off debts of upto Rs 0.2 million of widows but it had not been implemented. The protestors claimed that they had received loan of Rs 20,000 each. Their principal amount remained to be paid despite paying Rs 10,000.
