RAWALPINDI: Khana-e-Farhang Jamhuria Iran in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council organized calligraphic and painting competitions with title of “Ashurai Saqafat” on Monday.
The competitors painted the incident of Karbala through their feelings. Muhammad Akbari, Director General Khana Farhang Iran and Waqar Ahmed Resident Director RAC distributed cash prizes among the position holders.
Addressing at the occasion, Muhammad Akbari said that the language of skill has been used to link up the relations, which are long lasting. He said that skilled people got inspiration from incident of Karbala beyond religion. He added that artists must promote spirit of Islam through their work. Waqar Ahmed, Resident Director RAC also applauded Khana Farhang for promoting cultural activities in the region.
Famous calligraphers Khawaja Muhammad Hussain and Azeem Iqbal were appointed as judges.
Meanwhile, Six, five and four thousands were given to the position holders respectively in both the categories. In calligraphic category, Zia ul Haq Awan clinched first, Younis Roomi second and Aqsa Rasheed bagged third position.
