Lahore: Indian prisoner Suraj Singh dies of illness

Indian citizen Suraj Singh incarcerated in Central Jail Lahore died due to illness in Services Hospital Lahore, reported Dunya News on Thursday.Suraj Singh, arrested from Kasur border on charges of spying, had been imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail for some time before he got ill and was shifted to Services Hospital few days back but could not survive. According to Jail officials, Suraj Singh belonged to Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and he had requested Indian officials many times to take him back to his country. His countrymen, however, remained benumbed and gave no response to his pleas.
