Summary Expensive plots to 236 grade-22 officials were given during former PM Shaukat Aziz’s tenure.

ISLAMABAD: Some very startling facts regarding allotment of very expensive plots to 236, grade-22 officials, by and during former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have been unearthed.

This outrageous act of bestowing lavish generosity was initiated in 2006, when the summary for the outrage, as forwarded by Establish Division was approved within the ‘quickest’ duration of mere 23 days.

Documents reveal that billions worth of losses were incurred by Nationa Exchequer through this scheme titled ‘ Prime Minister’s Relief package for Grade-22 officials’, which was supposed to provide relief to ‘hapless grade-22 officials’ after they retired from their services.

The scheme envisaged one more plot for these officials in sectors D-12 and G-13, besides an already allotted through Federal Government Employers Housing Foundation (FGEHF).

The date of birth of these beneficiaries for an extra plot, was supposed to be in 1949, 1950, while the allottees were not allowed to sell these plots within two years from allotment date; while any judges benefiting from this scheme were not supposed to be ad-hoc or contracted judges.

Among 23 of bureaucrats/high-officials who enjoyed the fruits of this scheme are, Tariq Aziz, Syed Kamal Shah, Anwar Mahmood, Muhammad Ismail Qurieshi, Shahid Rafi, Dr. Waqar Masood, advocate Ahmad Khan, Riaz Ahmad Khan, Sher Afgan, Shakeel Durrani, G. M Sikandar, Justice Muhammad Nawaz and Justice Fakir Muhammad.
