Summary Sharjeel Memon says 126 policemen have been killed in Karachi in one year.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon claimed on Tuesday that at least 126 policemen were killed in this year.
While talking in a news conference, Memon said that as many as 739 terrorists have been arrested in police encounters while weapons also recovered. The minister said that every killing cannot be termed as ‘targeted killing’.
‘Karachi is a huge city; it is not a small area like Swat. So it is impossible to restore peace here in few days’, Memon said. He said that ‘free hand’ has been given to police and Rangers to maintain law and order in the city.
It is vital to mention here that the law and order situation in the metropolis city is getting worse with every passing day. As many as 90 people have succumbed to the ongoing spate of violence in Karachi over the last six days.
Victims included a noted religious scholar, seminary students, a doctor and other innocent civilians. Fear and insecurity have gripped almost every part of Karachi but Central and West districts turned out to the most affected areas.
