Summary PIA has decided to resume flights to Swat after improvement in law and order situation.
According to the sources, PIA flight would take passengers from Islamabad to Saidu Sharif on October 28.A test-flight reached Saidu Sharif from Islamabad and carried officials of PIA, Civil Aviation Authority, and media men.Talking to media on Islamabad airport, acting MD of PIA, Captain (Retd.) Junaid Younus said that the operation namely ‘Rah-e-Nijat’ resulted in enforcing the writ of the government in Swat, Saidu Sharif and affiliated areas.He said PIA would start regular flights to these areas after Eid-ul-Azha.Responding to a question, Junaid Younus observed that the restoration of flights to Swat would promote tourism here.To another question, he said PIA has decided to appeal against the fine charged by the US.
