Summary Illegal chemical making factories have posed health hazards in Bangash Badar colony of Rawalpindi.

Scores of shoes and chemical making factories are operating in the streets of union council No 6 with the connivance of corrupt elements of health department and district administration. They continue to emit toxic smoke which envelops the areas within no time putting the inmates into atmosphere of suffocation and death billowing fumes of burning chemicals.All the entry passages of our colony remain closed due to chain of factories queuing on both sides, said a group of residents of Bangash colony. Pungent adour rising from chemicals have made our lives miserable, they added. Every home is now hometown of fatal diseases and storage of pollution, they stated.Due to non adoption of precautionary measures, fire incidents take place often leaving the laborers injured, said a laborer.We have decided to shift from this colony to prevent our children from sliding into death traps opening their jaws in the form of these factories, said Naeem Ahmad , a teacher.The residents demanded immediate measures by the district administration for shifting these factories from the colony otherwise they will be forced to hold protest demonstrations.
