Summary At least nine AIDS test centres would be established in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa province.
The AIDS control Programme has sent the PC 1 of establishing nine new AIDS testing centers to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government.Under the new PC 1, SIT AIDS test centers would be set up at the hospitals of Peshawar LRH, Bannu, D.I Khan, Hangu, Sawat, Darpayan, Bonier, Abbottabad and Haripur where the patients of HIV would be referred to HMC centers and Kohat, besides the SIT services.According to details there are more than 16000 patients affected by AIDS in tribal areas and KPK province, while the number of patients is further increasing due to use of injected drugs.A source said that due to increase in the numbers of AIDS the new centers are being established in the region. The number of registered AIDS patients is 1054, the sources added.
