According to the rickshaw drivers protesting near Lahore Railway Station, police tortured a rickshaw driver Muhammad Ashraf and later Rasheed who came to his rescue.On this, the motorcycle rickshaw drivers blocked the road and shouted slogans against the traffic wardens and pelted stones at police station.The protesters said that the traffic wardens get bribes from them and often demand to buy cigarettes and water bottles for them.They said the wardens have also employed some boys who torture the rickshaw drivers.Meanwhile, police tried to resolve the issue through dialogue but the drivers refused and continued their protest after which police started baton charge and cleared the traffic after dispersing protesters.The rickshaw drivers said they would protest again if highhandedness of traffic wardens does not stop.
