Peshawar: Fire at UN store burns relief goods worth millions

Summary Fire erupted on Sunday in a ware house of UNHCR and burnt relief goods worth millions.

The godown of United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) located at vicinity of Chamkani gutted on, due to which thousand of tents stored there were turned into ashes.The eye witnesses said that some welding working was being carried out at the premises of UNO’s Office.All of a sudden a flame fell at the place, where bags carrying goods were stockpiled.After few minutes the inferno got to the whole store and relief goods worth of millions of rupees went destroyed.According to Kyber-Pakhtunkhawa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, investigation into the incident has been started.
