Summary There is shortage of medicines at Nishtar Hospital, causing tremendous problems for patients.
The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority has cancelled the contract of medicine purchase at Nishtar Hospital due to lack of funds.According to sources, about 80 medicines are seldom seen in the hospital. Patients are bound to purchase medicines from private market on high prices.On the other hand, the hospital management is of the view that provision of medicines is their first priority but the crisis is due to cancellation of purchase order.The MS of Nishtar Hospital is of the view that the board has decided to purchase medicines of Rs 100 million in order to cope with the current crisis.
