Summary Sindh’s education minister ordered private schools to enforce transport safety rules, banning CNG and LPG cylinders and unsafe fuel practices in school vans.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Sindh’s education minister has imposed a strict ban on CNG and LPG cylinders in school vans and issued safety directives to private schools.

The minister’s letter also prohibits unsafe refuelling practices, including supplying petrol to vehicle engines through bottles or cans. School vans are barred from carrying more students than their approved capacity or transporting students standing on the footboards.

The letter makes a fitness certificate issued by the Sindh government mandatory for school transport. A copy of the certificate must be kept inside each vehicle.

It warns that action will be taken against the relevant school administration for violating the safety instructions.

Private educational institutions have been directed to ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, with the letter stating that students’ lives and safety will not be compromised.
