Summary Islamabad authorities decide to seal extended Red Zone ahead of long march, while police impose leave restrictions until October 5.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Authorities have decided to seal the extended Red Zone in Islamabad ahead of a long march, according to sources.

Sources said all five routes leading to the Red Zone would be completely closed, with two layers of containers placed at each route and a heavy police contingent deployed.

The extended Red Zone will remain sealed and would only be opened in case of an emergency, sources added.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Police have imposed a ban on all types of leave for officers and personnel.

The Inspector General of Islamabad Police issued a circular imposing restrictions on casual, earned and foreign travel leave.

The ban on leave will remain in effect until October 5, 2026. All leave, except emergency leave, has been suspended with immediate effect.

Officers and personnel currently on leave have also been directed to return to duty immediately.
