ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Director General (Audit) has been removed from his post following the emergence of a report concerning alleged irregularities in document attestation at the Foreign Office.

A notification issued in this regard stated that the DG Audit had been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

According to sources, the official was removed after a report highlighting irregularities in the Foreign Office’s document attestation process surfaced. The DG Audit had prepared the report and submitted it to the Foreign Secretary’s office.

Sources said the official was removed after the report was leaked. The report allegedly identified irregularities amounting to Rs12 billion.

An internal inquiry report into document attestation at the Foreign Office had reportedly identified the collection of Rs12 billion through illegal means over a period of one year.
