BRUSSELS (Haseeb Arslan) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been nominated for the Noble Sustainability Global Leadership Award in recognition of her data-driven approach to climate resilience and technology-enabled governance aimed at advancing sustainable socio-economic development.
The Swiss-based Global Sustainability Trust, which honours leadership in sustainability from around the world each year, has acknowledged the Punjab government’s initiatives under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the areas of climate resilience, environmental protection, wildlife conservation, forestry, ecosystem restoration and multi-sectoral air-quality management.
The Trust particularly recognised the use of digital innovation, data-driven policymaking and technology-enabled governance to address environmental challenges while supporting sustainable development and improved public service delivery.
