ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a high-level meeting with top opposition representatives at the Opposition Chamber in the National Assembly. The opposition delegation was led by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate.

The meeting saw prominent participation from opposition alliance leaders, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aayin-e-Pakistan (TTAP) Secretary General Asad Qaiser, and TTAP Vice Chairman Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar. Key parliamentarians in attendance also included PTI’s Chief Whip in the National Assembly Amir Dogar, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Adil Bazai, and TTAP Spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain.

Accompanying the PPP Chairman was a delegation of senior party stalwarts, including former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Senator Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, and Nadeem Afzal Chan.

During the session, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the opposition leadership engaged in detailed discussions on parliamentary affairs and the broader national political landscape. The PPP Chairman formally urged the opposition leaders to join various parliamentary committees and take on an active role within the legislative framework.

In response, the opposition leadership stated that a final decision regarding their formal participation in parliamentary committees would be reached following direct consultations with the PTI Chairman. Despite this, both sides reached a consensus on expanding mutual contacts and coordination to streamline legislative processes in Parliament.

Additionally, the PPP Chairman welcomed the recent transfer of imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan to a hospital for medical treatment following directions from the Supreme Court, characterizing the move as a constructive and positive democratic precedent.
