LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms for the next five days, with intermittent showers expected to continue across Lahore and several cities of Punjab.
Rainfall continued in Lahore and various parts of Punjab, while intermittent showers in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi brought pleasant weather conditions. The Met Office said the rainy spell is likely to persist into next week.
According to the Met Office, strong winds are expected to bring a further drop in temperatures in Lahore. The city's current temperature was recorded at 27°C, with the maximum expected to reach 32°C.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an advisory to deputy commissioners, warning of the risk of flooding in rivers and rain-fed streams during heavy downpours. District administrations have been directed to remain on alert.
The PDMA also urged the public to avoid rain-fed streams, rivers, electricity poles and dilapidated buildings during periods of heavy rainfall to ensure their safety.
