Summary Punjab Police says over 36,500 illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens, have been deported from Punjab, while 504 remain at holding points
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The process of removing illegally residing foreign nationals from Punjab is continuing, with police reporting the deportation of more than 36,500 individuals so far.
A spokesperson for Punjab Police said a total of 36,545 Afghan nationals and other undocumented foreign residents have been deported from across the province, including Lahore.
Another 504 individuals are currently present at holding points awaiting further action.
Police data showed that those deported included 14,614 men, 7,234 women, and 14,697 children. Among them were 11,124 individuals holding Proof of Registration documents, 11,137 Afghan Citizen Card holders, and 14,284 foreigners identified as illegally residing in the country.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim said security measures have been strengthened across the province to ensure the completion of the deportation process.
He added that Punjab Police is implementing the policy for the removal of undocumented foreign nationals in accordance with international laws and procedures.
