RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday to discuss regional security, bilateral cooperation and border management.

The high-level meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, including the regional security environment, bilateral cooperation and measures to ensure effective border management between the neighbouring countries.

During the discussions, the visiting Iranian minister commended Pakistan's consistent efforts and its indispensable diplomatic role in helping ease regional tensions. He also acknowledged the country's contribution towards encouraging de-escalation and serving as an anchor for peace in the region.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their resolve to maintain close coordination and strengthen cooperative mechanisms aimed at safeguarding regional security and promoting mutual prosperity.
