Summary Lahore police restrict personal social media use in uniform, banning posts outside official accounts to ensure discipline and accountability.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Lahore police have introduced a strict new social media policy aimed at curbing the misuse of official authority, inappropriate online behaviour, and the use of police uniforms for personal publicity.

Under the new directives, all Station House Officers (SHOs), inspectors, sub-inspectors, and assistant sub-inspectors have been instructed to review their personal Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts and immediately remove any objectionable or inappropriate content.

The policy explicitly prohibits police officials from posting photos or videos in uniform on their personal social media accounts, especially in non-official or private settings.

Officials said the move is intended to maintain departmental discipline and prevent the misuse of police identity and uniform on digital platforms.

According to the guidelines, images or videos featuring officers in uniform can only be shared through official police social media accounts. Any such content on personal profiles has now been strictly banned.

Lahore police have warned that violations of the policy will result in strict departmental and disciplinary action against the concerned officers or personnel.
