PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Four terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations conducted by the csecurity forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night of June 3 and 4, according to the military’s media wing.

The operations were carried out in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts following reports regarding the presence of militants linked to Fitna-al-Khwarij.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan District after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area. During the operation, troops engaged the militants' location, triggering an intense exchange of fire that resulted in the killing of two militants.

In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Mohmand District, security forces engaged militants in what the military described as a skilful operation. Two additional militants were killed during the ensuing exchange.

The military stated that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the four slain militants. According to the statement, the individuals were allegedly involved in a number of terrorist activities in the area.

Security forces have launched sanitisation operations in the affected areas to ensure the presence of any remaining militants is addressed. The military said the operations are aimed at clearing the area and preventing any further militant activity.

The latest actions form part of Pakistan's ongoing counter-terrorism efforts under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam", a national strategy approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan framework.

The military reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue operations against militancy across the country as part of efforts to counter terrorism and enhance security in affected regions.
