MULTAN (Dunya News) - Strong winds and rainfall disrupted electricity supply in several areas served by the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), causing widespread outages across parts of southern Punjab.
According to sources, multiple feeders tripped in the Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, and Bahawalpur circles, leaving many areas without electricity.
MEPCO officials said the severe weather conditions temporarily affected power distribution in several locations, adding that operational teams were working on an emergency basis to restore the affected feeders.
Authorities stated that restoration work was progressing rapidly and that field staff had been mobilized to identify faults and resume electricity supply as quickly as possible.
MEPCO said restoration operations were being carried out in accordance with safety protocols and would continue without interruption until all affected feeders were brought back online.
The utility administration has directed field teams to remain on high alert until power is fully restored and appealed to consumers for cooperation during the recovery process.
Officials added that all available resources were being utilized to restore electricity, with repair and restoration efforts continuing in the affected areas.
