ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday held separate telephonic conversations with senior constitutional, political and government figures to exchange greetings on the occasion of Eidul Azha, reaffirming the importance of national unity, inter-provincial harmony and coordinated governance.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister spoke with President Asif Ali Zardari, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan.

The prime minister also telephoned senior political leaders including Abdul Aleem Khan, Khalid Magsi and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao to convey Eid greetings.

During the conversations, Prime Minister Shehbaz prayed for peace, prosperity, stability and development in Pakistan and expressed hope that the nation would continue to move forward with unity and harmony.

The discussions also covered the overall political situation in the country, with emphasis on strengthening effective coordination and cooperation between the federation and provinces.

The prime minister said the Federal government would continue working closely with all provinces and federating units to ensure maximum relief for the people and address their public welfare needs effectively.
