KARACHI (Dunya News) - Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that if the federal government contacts them regarding a constitutional amendment, the matter will be taken to the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) for consultation.

Speaking to media in Karachi alongside Nasir Hussain Shah and other ministers, Sharjeel Memon said that development projects were underway across the province and that the inauguration of Shahrah-e-Bhutto would take place in May.

He stated that work was progressing on roads, hospitals, and other development projects in Karachi, adding that efforts were being made to resolve the city’s traffic issues.

He said the Pakistan Peoples Party was carrying out record development work in Sindh.

The senior minister further said that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Taj Haider Bridge would also be held in May.

Sharjeel Memon said that while his government was focused on development work, opponents were busy spreading propaganda.

Regarding the proposed constitutional amendment, he reiterated that the matter would be referred to the CEC if approached by the federal government.

He said discussions would only take place once the draft of the constitutional amendment was presented.

Criticizing the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he claimed its politics had “ended,” alleging that the party had boycotted local government elections and fled the political field.

He also accused MQM of promoting politics based on hatred and ethnicity.

Responding to a question about the arrest of “Anmol Pinky,” Sharjeel Memon said the police had arrested a person allegedly involved in drug trafficking, which he described as one of society’s biggest evils.
