The electricity in some areas of Karachi has not been restored even after 48 hours. The missing of electricity has caused an acute water shortage. Karachi Water Board says that city will witness water shortage for next two, three days. The electricity crisis that surfaced in Karachi after fierce rains is yet to be controlled. Half of the city is without electricity. People protested and blocked the traffic against the long power breakdown in Shah Faisal Colony, Quaid Aabad, Malir, Mahmood Abad, Baloch Colony and Landhi. The protestors burnt tyres and stoned buses. KSE spokesman said that in most of the areas electricity supply had been restored however in some areas electricity was missing due to cable fault. He said that faults would be removed soon. Citizens couldnt get millions of gallons of drinking water as the pumping stations couldnt work in absence of the electricity.
