The work to restore the normal life in Karachi after fierce downpours is underway however several areas are still sunk in water. Electricity and drinking water are missing from some areas for the last two days. According to the Met Office no further rains are likely in Karachi. The restoration work is speedily in progress and central areas have returned to normalcy. Ghareeb Abad Underpass is still inundated while water is accumulated in Sadar, Liari, Old Area, Jinnah Hospital, Lines Area, Manzoor Colony and several other areas. The electricity in some areas is missing for the last 48 hours thus adversely hampering the water supply. People protested last night against the power breakdown and attacked 21 offices of KES. According to the officials it may take 24 hours to clear the road. Chief Meteorologist Muhammad Riaz said that rain has ended however in some areas weather will remain pleasant with light shower.
