Summary Storm and rain caused over 200 LESCO feeder trips in Lahore, disrupting power supply across multiple areas
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Strong winds and rain badly affected the electricity transmission system in Punjab’s provincial capital, causing widespread power outages.
More than 200 feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped due to the storm, while several areas also faced electricity suspension because of technical faults.
LESCO recorded total electricity demand at 3,398 megawatts, while supply stood at 3,710 megawatts.
The power utility said phased restoration of affected feeders was under way and appealed to consumers for cooperation.
A LESCO spokesperson said field staff had been placed on alert and feeders shut due to emergency and fault-based issues would be restored soon.
The spokesperson added that teams were active in the field to restore the affected feeders at the earliest.
