Summary Lahore High Court adjourns appeals of PTI leaders in May 9 cases without proceedings, including pleas by Yasmin Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court adjourned proceedings on appeals in the May 9 cases involving several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) without action against convictions.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Shahbaz Rizvi conducted the hearing.

Appeals filed by Dr Yasmin Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry were scheduled for hearing. Additionally, petitions seeking suspension of sentences filed by PTI leaders Omar Sarfraz Cheema and Afzal Azeem Pahat, among others, were also fixed.

The court was also set to hear the government’s appeal against the acquittal of former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

It is worth noting that in the May 9 arson and violence cases, convicted individuals were sentenced to ten years imprisonment each.
