According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, the holiday will be observed across the district, while emergency services will remain operational.
The decision comes in the context of important talks between the United States and Iran scheduled to take place in Islamabad.
Earlier, authorities had already declared public holidays on April 9 and 10 in both cities due to the same diplomatic engagement.
