Rain with strong winds hits several areas of Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Rain accompanied by strong winds has begun in various parts of Karachi, bringing a noticeable drop in temperature across the city.

Areas including Surjani Town, Malir, Mashriq Colony and surrounding localities received rainfall along with thunder and lightning. Following the rain, colder weather persists in North Karachi, Nagan Chowrangi, Buffer Zone and nearby areas.

Light rain was reported in Saddar and adjoining localities, while drizzle was recorded in PECHS and surrounding areas. Rain was also witnessed in Ahsanabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Dalmia, and Scheme 33.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the city’s weather is expected to remain partly cloudy over the next 24 hours, with an increase in cold intensity likely from Friday.

The Met Office further forecast intermittent rain in Karachi today, accompanied by strong winds and thunder. The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 7°C, while the maximum temperature may reach up to 25°C.
